I haven't gone to the dentist in a long time. Before last year (when I had my wisdom teeth removed), it was easily before covid probably around 2019 at the latest. Anyway, I saw Dr. Burkdall this time around (sorry if I spelled his name wrong- I had the card and then lost it). He was absolutely hilarious, love that guy. I want to preface this next part by saying that I hate needles. Hate them. I can tolerate them in my arms, but I will be anxiety ridden and freaking out on the inside. I also get major anxiety with any new procedure I receive. Anyway, he did the exam and lo and behold- I needed a deep cleaning for my lower teeth which involved needles to numb my mouth. Aka. A. NEEDLE. IN. MY. GUMS. yeah, I wanted to shoot myself. He was funny though, I was crying and he mostly kept any major nerves at bay. He was both compassionate and communicative and asked numerous times if I had questions before everything went down. Anyway, so he starts using a topical/oral numbing gel to numb the sides of my gums so I dont feel much of the injection. Im beyond crying and shaking (not majorly, but noticeable) at this point and he's just casually chatting with me and my boyfriend (who was in the corner). So I see this needle right? Its huge, like, super large and makes me internally freak out even more because ive never had a needle this large in any limb and the dude is just singing Living On A Prayer during the whole process. That being said, I really didnt feel any pain, not even the burning of the lidocaine going under my gums. The only thing I absolutely hated during this experience was the pop sound/feeling I felt when the needle broke through my gum line. Yeah, mildly traumatic, I hate getting my teeth checked, but it could have been a lot worse for sure. In short, 10/10 do not recommend deep cleanings. But, if you have no choice, 10/10 recommend getting them with Dr. Burkdall

Such a helpful dentist office, I called with an emergency and they got me in immediately. I am so grateful to everyone there.

All of the staff from the front desk to the hygienists to Dr. Benitez were amazing. Everyone was so kind and it was clear that this office breeds a culture of positivity. Everything was so thoroughly explained and I was included in every part of the process from beginning to end. It was clear they had a couple of new employees and seasoned staff were right there to jump in and help them with kindness and respect. I appreciated that! Dr. Benitez and her hygienists created a beautiful temporary crown without me even having to explain that I was worried it wouldn’t look great, being only temporary, because I have public speaking engagements coming up. They’re clearly focused on excellence and quality. I’ll be a permanent patient and will gladly be referring anyone I know to this office.
